I love Thaumcraft 4 so hard! Raging fanboi, confession – you got it.
Hopefully my tutorial/let’s play is both helpful and entertaining, and shows you what’s it’s like in an actual SSP world.
However, even with spoilers, it can be challenging enough. So here are some great links if you don’t want to discover the secrets for yourself.
Seriously, don’t click them and then whine that you weren’t warned.
First off, “The Tough Man”
Succubism’s Thaumcraft 4.0.4c Research Cheat Sheet on the FTB forums, is fabulous
Really glad to see my first “Let’s Play” came out satisfyingly well – I hope you will check it out
Running Minecraft v 1.64 with Thaumcraft 4 as well as Forestry and Buildcraft (and some others) for a slightly Steam Punk-y feel.
This was my first ever let’s play, so apologies if it’s a little rough around the edges. Sound improves as the season continues.
I hope to introduce Thaumcraft 4’s basic concepts in an informative, fun way without overwhelming you or just handing you the quick guide.
… if there are no other alternatives, I’ll do it.
this is to you AMC.
So you spent a bit of cash on a thing called “The Walking Dead“, a zombie show, if you will.
Question 1) Didja not think it would appeal to geeks and weirdos who were internet savvy?
Question 2) Didja not think that some of said demographic might not be able to watch replays at 2am or even 12am
Question 3) Didja not think about helping to broaden your fanbase by making the pilot available online for, I dunno, those folk who weren’t able to make the premiere, weren’t sure it would be any good, or had other shit going and couldn’t dvr? Didn’t own a DVR? Whats the matter, digital distribution too hard? No one to help? Like… I dunno, HULU???
Question 4) Didja not think those geeks who missed it and would be told by their peer group that this show is awesome, might know a thing or two about how to obtain it if you didn’t.
Question 5) Didja NOT think that a lot of these folk are good tax-payin people, who can’t stand piracy, but hate the fact that corporate america STILL doesn’t get its audience and get – I dunno that whole FUCKING INTERNET THING???
Question 6) If I donate to AFI the cost of 1 6th of the cost of a DVD, will that absolve me of the guilt of having to go to “the bad place”
Question 7) MalwareBytes is still one of the best anti-malware programs, right?
Fucking Fucking Fuckety Fuck – seriously – you have a website for FSM’s sake, don’t just play teasers about something cool I missed – post the pilot!
USE IT, you Assholes!
I wanted to sum up my feelings about the result of last night’s election. However it will take most of the day to coherently sort out the resigned disappointment from the despair at the outright apathy and/or stupidity of the voting majority of the American People.
Highlights so far:
Oklahoma passes Sharia Law ban. Because, you know, that wussy 1st Ammendment isn’t enough (or are we planning on repealing it, now Oklahoma doesn’t need it any more)
Californian’s vote to continue costly prohibition. Mainly because the voting base who would have voted to end it, stayed home.
However, while I can’t eloquently formulate my position at 5:16am. a poster at the highly underrated arstechnica.com forums pretty much nailed it for me.
“Our country likes to cut off its nose to spite its face from time to time without thinking about the consequences. Thanks to not bothering to pay attention to reality, we are now going to give more tax cuts to the wealthy that they don’t need, and haven’t added a single job during the current recession, and was borrowed to pay for it, and will continue piling on to the federal debt. Now we also get to watch Mr. “No You Can’t” become Speaker of the House and the subpoena machine ramp up for a witch hunt against Obama, his administration, and other Democratic members of both Houses. As for those without a job and those that lost their Health Insurance, don’t worry, extended benefits will now get cut since your too lazy to look for a job (that doesn’t exist) and you’ll probably lose the cobra assistance that helped pay for you Health Insurance while looking for a new job (that still doesn’t exist).
And now that we’ve saved some money by cutting off UI payments and cobra costs, they can work on cutting some more costs, meaning more lost jobs and Health Insurance during the worst recession since the Great Depression. Welcome to the double dip. Welcome to more foreclosures, more bankruptcies, and more job losses in the name of cutting Federal spending, all those people will now stop paying into the tax pool and instead will drain more cash from the Government via their unemployment benefits. You asked for change because things didn’t move fast enough for you, and instead voted yourself into grid lock, congratulations on screwing your country up even more”
Thanks mikeyk for posting that, while I don’t think (and certainly hope ) things won’t get quite that bad, I sincerely hope you don’t mind me sharing what you so eloquently summed up.
Of course, if the democrats hadn’t squandered a supermajority, and did the right thing as opposed to what they thought might get them re-elected (hah!) the D base wouldn’t have been some horribly uninspired.
Oh well, I will take solace in the fact that Sharron Angle didn’t get elected, although Reid seriously needs to step down. I feel bad that Christine O’Donnell didn’t get in, we’d have had comedy for 6 years. We have Rand Paul still, I enjoyed his acceptance speech – but I think he’s going to find he’s in over his head. Or, potentially, become a younger version of his dad, Ron. Which wouldn’t necessarily be all bad.
Oh well… way to go USA.
I see this from religious apologists a lot. And to be fair, there are some good qualities that religion brings to the world.
However, there is a fundamental downside that casts any good religion does into stark shadow.
Indoctrinating Telling people that “everything will come together as god wills it”, “god has a plan for the world”, and “even if life on earth is hard, when you get to heaven it will be paradise” does one hideous thing. It encourages these poor people to do nothing and “put it in the hands of the lord”. Everything is NOT going to be okay until we as a human race start taking care of things RIGHT NOW… not put them off for our children to deal with because we believe some orbiting sky fairy has shit firmly under control.
Religion stifles creativity, encourages the growth of a non-taxed entertainment industry, and can lead to stunning ignorance.
Atheists need to come out and start challenging this delusional behavior. Although I’m not a huge fan or Karl Marx, he did correctly state that “Religion is the opiate of the masses”… smoke this, and everything will be juuuuuust fine.
Keep on preaching, Bill Maher!
